Travis Spence has been a vital member of the Daniel F. Cracchiolo Law Library at the University of Arizona's James E. Rogers College of Law since February 2016. As Associate Librarian and the Head of Collection & Administrative Services, Travis oversees the daily operations of the Collection & Administrative Services unit, which includes Acquisitions, Cataloging, and Archives & Special Collections.

Before joining the University of Arizona, Travis gained extensive experience in managing library technical services at Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona. He served as the District Library Database Manager from May 2006 to February 2016, where he acted as the system administrator for the integrated library system, maintained access to over 150 subscription databases, and managed the library website and LibGuides system. Prior to that, he worked as a Library Services Specialist from May 1999 to May 2006, focusing on cataloging, quality control, and website content editing.

Travis's early career included roles at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, where he served as the Library Instruction Program Coordinator and a Technical Cataloging Assistant. These experiences laid the foundation for his expertise in library technical services and management.

With a strong commitment to professional development and service, Travis has been actively involved in various committees and organizations. He currently serves on the University of Arizona Undergraduate Council representing the University General Petitions Committee, where he holds the position of Co-Chair. Additionally, he has been a member of the University Hearing Board and the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) Awards Jury and Collections Development Committee.

Travis's scholarship includes the forthcoming book, "Emergency Response and Recovery Guide," which is set to be released by W. S. Hein in 2024. He has also co-authored an article titled "Technical Services, Social Justice, and LibGuides: A Model for Impact," which was published in the peer-reviewed journal Technical Services Quarterly. Furthermore, Travis has contributed scholarship to the law library community as a blog and journal column contributing editor for Technical Services in Law Libraries TechScans since August 2019.

Travis holds an M.A. in Information Resources and Library Science from the University of Arizona and a B.S. in English with a minor in Humanities from Ball State University. His educational background, coupled with his extensive experience in library services and management, has made him a valuable asset to the Daniel F. Cracchiolo Law Library and the broader library community.
