A Message from the Director
Welcome to the Daniel F. Cracchiolo Law Library at the University of Arizona, College of Law.
The Daniel F. Cracchiolo Law Library holds nearly 300,000 print volumes and hundreds of legal databases. In addition to the best U.S. law collection in the state of Arizona, our unique strengths include our Indigenous Peoples, Federal Indian, and Tribal Law collections; our current and historical Mexican law collection; our environmental law collection; and a growing collection of legal monographs focusing on racial and social justice.
And that’s not all. As members of the University of Arizona community, you will have access to all the other libraries and library resources on campus including the Main Library’s archives and special collections, the Center for Creative Photography, and the Arizona State Museum.
The University of Arizona is a federally designated Hispanic Serving Institution and American Indian and Alaska Native Serving Institution. And our collective library resources reflect these prestigious designations.
But we are much more than a collection of books and databases. What makes this law library so special is the group of smart and talented professionals who are here to work with you and help you find your way around these resources. They will be in your classrooms teaching you the intricacies of US legal research. They will be on hand throughout the semester and everyday through email, video-conference, and in-person -- to help answer your questions, find what you need, and jumpstart your research.
We hope that many of you will make this magnificent library space -- whether virtual or physical -- your second home during your time here. Indeed, it is our mission to make sure you are comfortable and have what you need while you are with us.
We pride ourselves on being a welcoming library to all who walk through our doors.
The Daniel F. Cracchiolo Law Library, like the College of Law and the University of Arizona, is a welcoming haven for all members of the Arizona Law community regardless race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability, age, genetic information, political affiliation, veteran status, ancestry, national or ethnic origin, or citizenship status.
The Daniel F. Cracchiolo Law Library advocates for policies, laws, and practices that champion intellectual freedom, privacy, confidentiality, rigorous research, antiracism, and equitable access to information. We provide open and equitable access to credible sources of news, data, and knowledge, and provide the expertise, services, collections, tools, and spaces that help all people of Arizona access and critically assess information.
